Definition of season
1a: a time characterized by a particular circumstance or feature
Seasons, they are meant to change, they are sometimes a familiar place and sometimes not so familiar. They can be hard or easy seasons.
There is a time for everything, and a SEASON for every activity under the heavens.
I have always described a new season with the reference of my girls. See, I have four girls and they all entered new seasons of life a few years ago. Our eldest was headed to college, our second oldest- first year of high school, our third entering middle school and the youngest starting school for the very first time ever. WOW!
During this step into a new season we saw excitement, curiosity, hesitation, unknown territory, uncertainty and tears (yes, tears from them and us parents). We knew this new season was coming but that did not mean that emotions would not be on high. Whether you can see the season coming or not you can count on a whirlwind of emotions to follow and that is ok.
We prepared as much as we could but there were also moments we were not ready for. For example, being in a home with three girls now instead of four. We adjusted and guess what? The new season was not that bad and it adjusted to who we were too. There were lessons learned and moments of reflection, but the new season was embraced and we were good.
And now, guess what happened? When we were finally good, a new season came and that’s just how life is. We are forever entering or exiting a season weather we are ready or not.
Today, I encourage you to make the most of the new season you are currently in. During these seasons we grow, laugh, cry and learn so much more of who God has created us to be. New seasons can be amazing. A new season will bring on so many mixed emotions. Sometimes, we choose a new season and sometimes we are forced into one. But regardless of how we are entering this new season, we have to embrace it sooner or later.
Take a moment today to reflect on the season you are in and eagerly expect the season you will be entering next, Sis.
Rooting for you,
